2.8 V6: Testing new Ford Ranger 99-00 injectors (Denso)

Hi,

Why Ford Ranger 1999 - 2000 injectors?. Because a guy sold me 6 injectors in $ 60 in e-bay ($ 10 each), they are new and they are "Denso".

In my 2.8 V6 FWD GM car I had the olds Multec with only 5 injectors working, then I replaced them.

At first, the engine ran very rich (cof, cof!) with black smoke but RPMs at idle were too smooth (oscilation was near to zero @ 650 RPM).

Then I tested the BLMs and I adjusted injectors size in - 33% in order to run around 128.

I didn't have idea about lbs/hr., fuel pressure, saturated type, etc. about these injectors. Only I used the $88 mask for changes in injectors size. I decreased in the same % the 2 byte values located in adresses 6BA/6BB and 71F/720 and the "airflow vs EGR" table located from 754 to 764 in the PROM with the Atta6656 bin.

Now, I continue testing for better performance, but i recommend: Don't try these injectors if you don't can burn your PROM.

Have fun,

Denis V.

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
I have run up to 26 Lb injectors in the 3.1. I also clear the ECM every time so it will go into "limp" mode and relearn variables.

Only once did it every get really rich was with the 26 Lb'ers going up hill in "Ego" or full throttle and it went all out, and man did it go all out. It accelerated like a mad car. But otherwise a minute or two after start up it settled down and purred. Rev'ed nice and very smooth.
