went to the track tonight

i ran a 10.40at 65 in the 1/8th not to bad for a 3.1 with just a catback and a msd box but the 60 sucked i got a 2.2 i know i could hit at least a 10.1 or 10 flat cause off the line i was either spinning real bad or bogging real real bad. its the first time ive ever raced at the track so i was proud of myself. i may try again next week cause the car was running hot the whole time too and ima fix that this week. ill try for a 10 flat next time. does anyone know what this time is close to in the 1/4??

10.4 1/8th = 16.2-16.3 in the 1/4

10 flat is about a 15.6-15.7

Bastage! That's awesome man, sorta pisses me off that a lightly modded 3.1 is as fast as me though . I need to swap in a T5, if that's the case....dang stickshifts. That's faster than I ran with the 3.4 the first time (10.75).

I'm cursed with the 700r4 though, it is one PARASITIC transmission I'll say that. I'd be much faster with a 5 spd...but...
Doward is running more mods than you and is a bit slower as well, maybe you just have a freak motor??? Heck, you may not want to swap in the 3.4......I'd build up that 3.1 if I was you.

Whoa - I ran a 10.6, on a 2.7xx 60' (only got one run all day!) I've run a 2.3 60', so I know a 10.2-10.3 is there for the taking.

Mods? I've got a cam, and a light port/polish, lol... haven't run with the turbo - pipes get ordered MONDAY!!

yeah honestly ive been rethinking the whole 3.4 swap for now but i will definately have one on the side for when this motor goes out the window. i dunno if its the tranny or what thats helping me out. i even have the stock 3.42 gears and open rear end.

I'd bet on you just being a good driver with that T5.... Maybe I should let you drive my car the next time you're in town and see if you can runa 14.xx It's mid 15's NOW, wait till the weather is decent or cold and dense in the winter...
