Injector Sequence?
I have an 87 Firebird that blew a connecting rod because of the incompitance of a local mechanic, but thats a story for another day. what i need help with is part of the last stages of my engine swap, i bought a reconditioned 2.8 from Recon and have it in the car but during the removal of the old mill, the injectors were simply removed and tossed in a box with the rail with no markings as to which cylinder each corresponds to. I want to know what there is to do besides inspecting each injectors wires to see how far they were meant to stretch. I CAN tell where the first and last injectors go as there isn't another injector near it, but it's the four cylinders that have adjacent cylinders that im questioning.
Should i just look at each one carefully and make my best guess, then if its running wrong, try it again?
Thanks for your help.

Uhm... they're batch fire (left side/right side, 135/246).. not sequential... it won't run any differently if you accidentally mix up the connectors so long as they're all connected.

I read something somewhere in the forum that the clips on the injectors arent needed, do I not need to replace them, it was argued but never resolved.

THe clips were used by the manufacturer to keep them inplace during build up. Not needed otherwise, as the o-rings & bolts holding down the fuel block will keep everything in place.

Probably correct. At .99, I wanted the added piece of mind.
Hate to burn up my car due to a .99 clip.
