not much but i see it

Im statrting to see smoke coming from the driverside of the car. Let me be more clear. sometimes in the morning i see a very light smoke coming left side near the rear of the hood. this weekend i saw it come from the bottom driver side. now, this dose not always happen. it seems like its only on hot days. the smoke is not black nor is it realy bad. its very light and you can hardly see it but its there. I looked under the car and the hood to see if things where leaking. the only thing i noticed was grime from oil on the pan and around the filter a little. Im thats waht causes it. But one thing ive also noticed was, that the exausted mainfold seems to have a little bit of burnning residue at the very top right of it on the driver side. could this only be a degreaser problem that can be solve or others? No eng light on, no diry oil, no bad trans oil, new oil filter just to let you no.

Sounds like you have leaking oil from the valve cover going on the exhaust, it's nothing.

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices

EGR is on the left, not the right.
And you would hear a distinguishable exhaust racket with a leaking EGR.

The 60* engines are the worst for leaking valve covers.
The reason, the sealing surface has 2 areas, the intake and the head. It literally splits right down the middle of the valve cover.
Nearly impossible to seal once taken apart.

Rubber gaskets, and smart RTV use (not blindly globbing) will keep the leaking to a minimum.

And distibutor leak will find it's way under the car and hit the cross over if anything. Mostly, just leave a puddle.

Oil leaking from the distributor has a very easy way of dripping onto exhaust, not just puddling under the car.
