New engine

Hey guys, i just finished up a month long project to put a rebuilt 2.8 in my car after the engine blew due to a gaping hole in the oil pan Stupid firestone! (but thats a story for another day) the engines running and the cars on the road...but it doesnt sound too good...my stepdad keeps telling me its just because its breaking in and to quit my b*tching, but i would like to hear it from you guys. For one thing, it stalls when cold, repeatedly. and when i first start accelerating it sounds like no oil is getting to the top of the engine, i could just be paranoid, but what do you guys think?
