Saved One From The Junk Yard!
1988 Camaro, 2.8 V6 auto. I caught an old friend getting ready to send it to the junkyard, and gave him $75 for it. She's not exactly a gem, needs a LOT of cosmetic work (starting with the spray-can paint job), and the tranny doesn't work, but it's not too far gone to get going again. It was supposed to run, but I couldn't get it to start and don't hear the fuel pump kicking on when I turn the key. Where does the fuel line come into the engine bay? I took a quick look for it while trying to get the car to start, but it doesn't seem to be out in the open like on my 84 model (mechanical pump, carb application). If I can get it moving again, it'll either be a great project car or a good profit maker when I sell it. If worse comes to worse, and the motor won't run, then I have a nice set of large-port heads for my 84's engine, and a posi rear end to replace my regular one, not to mention a Z28 gearbox for my younger bro's 82 base model...worth the $75 IMO.
edit** sorry for the crappy quality of the picture, this is the best that I could attach and get to post. If anyone knows a better way to post a picture without having a website, please let me know. Thanks

I wish i could find stuff like that for $75.
Change the pic to a 'jpg' instead of a 'bmp' , the file size will be smaller so you can post it bigger with more quality.

this is the first cheap deal I've ever gotten, and it was nice to find it. And yes, I could hardly believe that there was posi in it, either. I just set up a website if you guys want to look at bigger pics of the car:
http://camaromanblack.tripod.com/
The '88 is under "The Cars, cont'd" on the left menu. The rest of it is other cars, nothing impressive for a website, just my first attempt at one.

They might have; the ground effects and front fascia came off of a Z28, I know that. I know some cars came with the Z28 box from the factory (like my '84 model, believe it or not). But it's very possibly that it came off a donor Z28. The friend I bought the car from wasn't the guy that did all of that, but he told me that the guy HE bought the car from was. He said that the motor (that little V6) had been bored out, posi added to the rear end, and then the ground effects and stuff put on. The car originally had the black and gold color scheme. If I can get it to run, I'll try to restore it back to a Z-clone. But man, is it going to be a long project...
