AC Bracket

I recently bought a 85 firebird with a 2.8 v6 and come to find out the AC Compressor bracket is actually broken in two pieces. the AC works fine and living in Florida it is a good thing to have around. The only problem is with the bracket broken I can't tighten the belt enough to actually use the AC safely. I have been searching for a replacement around here for about 2 weeks now and even called a couple places out of state and no luck. Does anyone know where I can find this bracket, Of course the dealer said it is a discontinued item.

ANY junkyard should have one. Where in Florida are you?

bracket

I am in dunnellon and work in ocala and I have called almost everywhere and have a couple other places to visit in belleview and a few other around. but won't be able to until next wednesday since that is going to be my next day off. of course most of that places I call say they don't have any cars back to 85 and only have newer ones. I have tried LKQ(damrons) in Crystal river and they said they don't sell brackets and he laughed when I asked what they did with them.

The 1985 2.8 AC bracket in question is composed of a bottom cradel section, and two side pieces all held together with long bolts. All three pieces are discontinued by GM. The good news is that the same bracket was used again in 1986 on the 2.8's with AC, the last year for individual accessory drive belts. Check out Camaro Heaven, House of Camaro, IROCZDAVE, Hawks, etc... This item should not be hard to locate.
