I have used the search so much and it has helped, but i was wondering, what are the symptoms of a bad Throttle Postion Sensor. My car accelerates terrible and hesitates and acts like a misfire at idle. Seems to be worse when the car heats up. New maf, so I know its not that. Does the TPS throw a code if it goes bad? you can test the tps with a digtial multimeter.

sometimes i go to the wrecker and pull tons of sensors off and test them good or bad on the car to keep as a spare, and if they are bad i see the symptoms.

i hop you have checked the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and rotor button, and o2, and cat. timing can do that as well.

do the cheapest and easiest things first.

 

All new about 6 months ago, car sat but started nearly every other day. Just got it on the rd about 2 months ago and this started on me. So i'm pretty sure its all good, now when you test the voltage, i knwo it should be around .56, how do you know if its bad? if its not .56 or close to it then its bad? Can you adjust it if its off, or if its off its bad? I'm going to unplug it and dirve the car like that, the computer sets a defualt code, and you should get pretty good performance back, but be a little worse on gas. If the problem goes away when i do that, then i know what it is. I hope this will work. I raced a z-28 the night, 2000 ls1 6spd, lol, side by side, beat her off the line but then she got me, but for lik e3 seconds, side by side, i hit 90 in 3rd gr at about 4500, thats not bad
