Do you need to change the ecm chip when going with a 180 stat and a faster opening fan switch?

First off, 3.1s don't have an external fan switch. The fan is controlled by the ECU. Second, all of the cookie cutter aftermarket chips are an utter waste of money. They add a tad bit of fuel and a tad bit of spark advance at WOT. Sadly, an AFPR and mild timing adjustment at the distributor will generally reap better results. Nothing wrong with the 180 degree thermostat, though.
