Alright guys, my car has started to intermittantly throw a code 42

"Fault at electronic spark timing circuit or fault at direct ignition system, or fault at fuel cutoff relay"

I am inclined to think it is the fuel cutoff relay since I have also had an intermittant hard start situation where I have to let it crank for a while ( although oddly the light and the problem never coincide)
What do you guys think, and how do I fix it?

 

Your code 42 = Electronic Spark Timing (EST). This chart may help you.

Thankyou, but could you post the diagnostics aids part that is for an intermittant problem. I believe it says refer to "intermittants" in section "B" Because my problem is definately intermittant.

 

I will e-mail them to you as there are several pages of them.
