Car: 92 F-bird, 1965 Goat (GTO for those who don't know what a Goat is.)
Engine: 3.1 V6, 400 w/3 2 bbl's
Transmission: 700-R4, TH350
Transmission question
Do our 700-R4 transmissions (92 model) have a 30 spline input shaft? I need to know because I am about to order an overhaul kit from Summit.

Transmission: DYT700R4 custom inerts and conv.
No, Those are V8 kits. I can't tell you what the V6 unit is but I do know those kits won't work for a V6. The imput shafts are different. I actually own fully custom built V6 700r4 that was fitted with a V8 imput shaft- thats how I know. A friend of mine who owns Darrell Youngs Racing Trans custom built it for me.

Point lost on the TH350 but.....
I have memories of my Father racing his 1963 Grand Prix w/421 Against My Aunt's 1965 Goat w/4-speed on back roads of Long Island in 60's.
PS My Cousin won a trophy at Long Island Dragway w/same car. Stock Eliminator I believe.
