Alternator upgrade and poly suspension

I think i might need a new alt soon, is there one that is a direct replacement and puts out more amps than stock alternator? And I plan on doing a motor swap this weekend, I think it would be good time to swap tranny and motor mounts with poly ones. What do I need to buy for the motor mounts? Are they two piece? Will I need to do major surgery to get them apart?

Autozone 108 amp upgrade alt $60

I run extra 55watt running lights and around 1500watts in stereo and have plenty of juice.

Stock alt on an "87 and up is 105 amps already. I don't know about the pre-'87 cars though, I don't own one.

I run a 140amp V8 TPI alt from Powermaster. Its a homemade custom bracket.

85-86 got a 108 amp alternator with a/c, I believe cars without a/c got 78 amp ones.

Not sure about 82-84 ...

Give it 6mo and it will die. A good one might last a year. I got a lifetime one from Autozone for this very reason. The remans suck! I have had most not put out enough to keep up with the car. And my stereo is not all that. Have even had 2 completely disinegrade inside and granade. One locked up so bad the fan/pulley quit turning. The belt then turned it and zipped off the nut. I ahd to go out in traffic and chase done my parts so I could return it with everything.

With some crazy swip swapping, I ended up with 2 alternators. Thanks to Autozone and the junkyard. My autozone one died. Found a Autozone one on a f-body in a yard and got it. Not trying to get something for nothing mind you. Just needed a stock case to turn in with the dead alt. I had painted and polished mine. Autozone took my guts with the other case no prob. Got a new Atl for them. The Spare. Took the junkyard one with the now chromed case to a rebuilder and he totally rebuilt it. Not just replacing what was bad, but replacing all bearings and such!

Moral...find a reputable rebuild shop and get tehm to rebuild it. They can probably get you more amps in the same case!
