some people say that its not worth it in a v6. i have one and i love it. it all depends on what you do with the car really. $200 is a lot more than i'd pay for one from the junk yard though. i have an slp zexel torsen one that i bought from slp for $120 i think. and, that was basically new.

edit: i just realized that maybe you meant the whole rear end. $200 isn't too bad if its the whole rear end. like he said, find out what gears it has first.

Keeping the rearend from unloading on you in a corner is very important to me. And open diff will not allow you to handle as well as a posi on any car regardless of engine size.

I bought the slp posi for 99, plus shipping.

I have yet to install it, however my s10 had it in it, same engine. Yes, it needed it in that light rear-end.

I want mine more for handeling then power traction.

maybe mine was 99 plus shipping, i don't remember. anyways, i needed it in my car! before it, i had 3.23s with an open rear and could not hook up! then, i went to the posi with 4.10s! still couldn't hook up on the street. it was awesome. now i have that posi with 3.73s and newer tires and it doesn't spin quite as bad. however, it will still spin pretty good.

I have been told that if you tend to drive on the wilder side on the street, a posi will get you into trouble. You have to really tone down and think ahead of time. Or you can find your self out of control easy.

i think thats a good idea whether you drive 'wild' or not. i do tend to, um, push the limits, periodically. i have no problems with it caused by the posi. no, i don't drive crazy, i know just how to handle it but i do like to mess around with it if traffic's clear and all. i've been racing for several years so i know how to handle vehicles but i haven't had any 'extra' problems because of the posi.

i think that they sold out of them. they were the take-outs from new camaros and firebirds. check ebay though, you might catch a good deal on there.

the end axel bearing could be shot?It should leak fliud if it wobbled much but the seals must still be good.

Oh well im not getting it cause they won't lower the price and they won't let me just take the part out of the rearend. I just wanted one cause my car spins the right side rear tire all the time even if you just give it a tinny little amount of gas.

So they were going to sell you the whole axle for $200? That's not a bad price... but I guess it had really high gears in it compared to your 3.42 that you've got now?

Yes a posi is definately worth it... i miss mine.
