im pretty sure my power steering fluid is the original fluid. last time i looked at it it was low and i topped it off. now im thinknig maybe a good idea to change it all together.

Basically just siphon the fluid out of the reservoir (or remove the p/s pump from the car, undo the cap, and turn it upside down), then fill it with new fluid. After you fill it up with fluid, you'll have to bleed the lines; raise the front end in the air. Start the engine, run for a bit, shut off, check the level in the reservoir- add fluid if you need to. Restart the engine, turn wheels lock-to-lock (all the way left, all the way right), slowly a few times. Shut car off, lower back to the ground, check fluid level, add fluid if you need to.
You might want to look at the condition of your hoses, too.

heres what id do. get one of those sucker guns or whatever they are called. suck the pump out, fill it up and run it, turning the wheel back and forth 10-15 times. shut it off and do it again. do this probably 3-5 times or until the fluid is clearer than it is now. or you can stop at a quick lube and have a P/S flush done, most are about $60. i used to work at a place that had all the BG products. i took one of their training classes, their stuff is really worth it. P/S fluid is like any other, it gets dirty and breaks down. gotta change them.
