Belt question?

My AC clutch is starting to sieze up and is knocking like crazy when the car is cold. Is there a way to bypass it. Now i was told you could run the non ac belt and just skip the compressor. However, is this possible, because if it was why would they make ac delete pulleys? Very confused, maybe someone here knows more Thanks

Sorry, I just read this for the first time. I have a Factory Camaro A/C delte pulley on my truck. I'll go get the part # off it and take a picture of it. It will work on either a V8 Camaro or a V6, they are the same A/C compressors.

GM has this labeled as a waterpump pulley- it is not such. It cam on factory IROC's that had no factory air.

It is GM part # 10055890

Imput that part # on this site

Yes, but it works identical. It just on the opposite side of the motor and it mounts right side up (not upside down like on my truck)

It should, the pully is the same size or should be at least as the a/c pully. I had heard a rumor that you could use that delete pully in place of the smog pump as well, that true? My smog pump is currently hollowed out but I want it off the car and I can't just get a shorter belt as it will rub.

Supposedly you can just get a shorter belt and bypass the a/c but it didn't work on my 3.1, th ebelt rubbed on the top of the water pump pully.
