Yes! The '730 is more powerful, and much better for boost!

No! I don't want to pay the extra $180ish, and I'd rather have the older MAF computer!

Optional. I mean, the MAF DOES run low boost well... sure, the '730 is SD, and is MUCH better under boost, but who cares?

Ok, guys, tell me how you want this!

I just scored a '730 ecu + pigtail for dirt cheap.

Look to the poll.

I may just do that... or offer it seperately.

The problem with maf, is part throttle boost is much harder to control the fuel/timing, than it is with SD.

Yes. It'll come with the '730 ecu, re-programmed for boost, and a 2 bar MAP sensor.

Even if you already have a '730, you'll need my modified one. Now, if one were to email me, and I was certain they had the skills needed to modify their own, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Keep in mind, this is only $150-$180 difference in the kit.

The bastard child '85? I'd like to find a pinout... if it is the same as the '302, then YES, it will work!

The 85's had an ecm all of their own. Different pinout than the 302.

Sounds to me like the '85s will work with the '730 swap, too!

Doward, I know you gotta run a major modded one to run boost.

I was just trying to be a smart a$$

It should be a 730. Won't matter, as you still have the correct engine harness, and will be using the Turbo 730

Thanks. I've been looking for that info for a long time. Good to know. Now I need to go to the junk yard and get me a newer ecm and prom. The 85's are really slow compared to the 86's.

anyone know how high of boost we can expect to use on our stock 3.1 and not blow a gasket... plus how long will my freshly-rebuilt motor last on this kit??

Couldn't say. I basically did a re-ring on a 75k mile motor, and have been running 9.5 psi for like 2500 miles with zero problems.

Speed kills! I'm swapping an iron duke in mine to slow 'er down....

I won't be ready for any kind of forced induction until I have at least looked at the bottom end bearings and looked at cylinder bore wear.

My plan is to get a 3.4, toss it on the stand, rebearing and re ring if needed, rework my spare set of heads with some port work etc, then put the hairdryer to it.

At the rate I get stuff done this will happen in five years.....

Even though I have maf, I prefer the speed density setup, I would love to ditch my maf.
