Car wont start, need help
My friend has a 3.1 liter m in his 92 rs that wont start. He says he was starting to replace his window motor and his motor which happened to be running stopped working while he was doing this.
He took it to a mechanic where he told him that 3 cylinders arent firing but got it to work by retiming it and basically messing with the distributer yet its only firing 3/6 cylinders. So the cars running for like 2 weeks, he starts it, begins to pull out of it driveay when it stalls again and wont start.
I told him you guys could help him and hes not not a member of this site so can any of you guys help him out?

So he had the motor running while he was changing out the window motor? How long was the engine running for? A half hour? 5 hours?
And was he driving it for 2 weeks on only 3 cylinders, or, was it fine for two weeks, and now it's acting up again?

Well I beleive the motor had been running for like 20 minutes while he was working on something when it died. I believe the mechanic recognized the problem when he disconnected three of the spark plugs and it made no difference, so they had like a lack of compression or lack of spark. He doesnt know much about engines and I dont know anything about his car. Specifically what could he do to check?

I believe you need to tell your friend to join up and explain the problem himself, because I believe the middle-man thing has been proven to not work efficiently.
You could start by checking for spark to all 6 plugs. You could also run a compression test on all 6 cylinders....
