2.8 to 5.0 swap?

ok.. i have 2 1988 camaro SC's one with 77k miles.. 2.8 with automatic tranny....other one is a 1988 SC with a 305 V8 and a 5 spd manual tranny... i want to flip flop the set ups like put the 5spd and 305 in my 77k mile SC.. if i want to do that what do i need to and is it worth it performance wise to do it? i mean what would i need to do? i know i need to rebuild the 305 and the 5spd tranny... because they have 153k miles on em... so what would i need to do the tranny to redo it.. replace clutch or is there more to it? plus when flip flopping the set ups do i have to worry about anything computer wise in the car im puttin the V8 and 5 spd into?

performance wise, personally, i'd take the v6 over the 305. 305s never have been known to be the best performance engines. I'M NOT BASHING THE 305s! i know that they can be made to be fast but the small block is A LOT heavier than the v6 and it hardly makes anymore hp than some v6s (in stock form, even). it does make some more tq but that barerly offsets the weight diff.

You need to change the mounts on the kmember with v8 mounts, in the forward position, the kmember is the same. As long as you have good springs and struts in the front end, you dont need to worry about it, they are fine. IF you are going carb'd the swap is pretty easy, otherwise, you will need all sensors and injection equipement.
