Valve job etc.

My car is an '83 carbed 2.8 and it has the smaller valves. So I'm going to do a head job and while I'm at it, I'm going to install the bigger valves.

Any recomendations for the valve manufacturer? Also what are the exact dimensions for the bigger valves? Are the same that are used in chevy V8 engines?

What else should I renew other than valve stem seals, valves, headbolts and headgasket? Does anybody know what manufactruer makes a headgasket for our engines? I have not been able to find the gasket at summit or any other netstore or manufacturer...

Autozone (felpro) carries a head gasket set for our motors...

I'd get a set of fuel injected heads, and have those rebuilt, rather than your current ones. It's be cheaper and easier in the long run

The FI heads are easy to get and cheap too.

They are easy to get in the states, yes. But I live in Finland and these engines aren't common here. So if I want the bigger valves, I have to order the heads from the US or make new valveseats for bigger valves.

Also, what is the difference between valve seals and valvestem seals? Are they the same thing or what?

Understand that one, sorry. Shipping wouldnt be cheap due to weight. But atleast take a look at cost.

valve stem seals go up in the lock area on the stem. Made of a hard material.

valve seals, actually go on the head, and the valve stem sticks thru it. Made or a rubber type material.
