Welcome aboard.

First thing - take it easy on that "Submit" button. Only takes once (or is the server acting up again?). No biggie, I've cleaned up the redundances.

Your basic Haynes shop manual will take you through most of what you need to know. The things that will require special tooling will be identified, and the things beyond the typical home garage hobbyist will be noted.

Since you've got a V6, I'm moving this from the Tech/General Engine forum to the V6 forum.

Thats great! When you're done rebuilding yours, you can come and do my block thats sitting in my garage!! (I can take it apart no problem, putting it back together is another story)

It's easy as pie - grab a Haynes manual for your vehicle, and read through chapter 2

Find a complete used running 3.4 engine & rebuild that instead.
Put some power into your ride.
Serious, rebuild another engine like a 1993-1995 3.4 from an F Body car.
You'll be using lots of the 2.8 parts already on hand, plus some new parts for 60* engines plus some 3.4 items fromt eh engien ya score.
It's easy & detailed.
Then get back to us wiht the smiles.
Engine rebuilding is like baking a cake.
Right ingredients, right tools, right measurements, too. AND MONEY!
