Oil dipstick housing broken, replacement difficulty?

Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace the dipstick housing for the oil? The plastic thing snapped in half when trying to take my oil reading. The moron who had the car before it abused it something bad and when I tried to wiggle the dipstick free, it broke in half. Theres still half a dipstick plastic thing going down to the pan but the upper half is broke. I know that it needs to be there because the dipstick end has a seal with the top portion of the housing to prevent contaminants in.

Is it hard or easy to replace? If so, could someone tell me how to, seeing as the haynes manual doesnt say (unless i'm not lookin in the right place)

Pretty hard probably. When I rebuilt my 2.8 I had to drive the metal dipstick tube out. It was in so tight I almost destroyed it.

Maybe super glue and some duck tape would help....

IF you can drive it, take it to mechanics and ask for their help.
Don't goof up this part.
It can haunt you as in expensivly.
IF not drivable, ask mechanics to come visit.
First step is to find a replacment dip stick to use as a guide showing people what happened.
IF you are not sure what to do, in this instance, DON'T.
Mistake can be costly, right brainy solution can be worshipped.

Its drivable and with the dipstick in its tube, nothing moves. All secure. Its when you go to check your oil, the exposed portion of the housing above the block comes off too lol. With it off, I can still see where the dipstick feeds into. I guess its not too much a biggy, just an annoyance.

It sure could be if it drops into the engine.
I'd find a way out of that. But go get a new one already to stick in.
Shame ya so far away they dime a dozen out here in wrecking yards.
And it's a nice day for the walk, too, not raining.
