Oil Pressure Gage
Hey, my buddys son just got a 90 3.1 RS, and unfortunately I don't know much about the V6 engine. His gage cluster seems to work just fine, except his Oil pressure is very low.. migh tbe zero. I know this can't be accurate, as there is no lifter noise or engine knock.
I think that I can just replace the sending unit and fix the problem as everythign else is working properly. Though, I was once told that the oil pressure is the kill switch for the fuel pump, like zero oil pressure = no fuel. Is this true?
Thanks

The GM oil sending untis are not the best in the world. I have gone through a few. Usally the body cracks and it leaks oil, but what do you expect from some thing made completly of plastic.
Fortunetly they are cheap and it is a good place to start to try and fix the problem.
