Exhaust diameter question
I want to buy a y pipe and split the exhaust into 2 12" long glasspacks and then put a chrome tips on the end. What is the diameter of the stock downpipe? I would go outside and measure but there is too much snow on the ground.
Why?
Get some legal headers made by Pace Setter Exhaust for our car & enjoy a well engineered product.
PS They make complete exhaust systems, from exhaust manifold to Cataylic Converter to Pipe and mufflers, tail pipes.
Send an email to Mr. Fred Gerle at Pace Setter Exhaust ask him for all the part numbers.
He'll even tell ya the size ya need/seek for max performance.

I think the stock pipes are like 2" or 2 1/4".
Spend your effort for real performance, not just noise.
Glass packs sound best behind a 1968 Pontiac Firebird with a 400/TH400 combo, going full race against others in the steet wars in Van Nuys.
