stalling

So twice now my car has stalled when I've been stuck and trying to get out. Both times the car was cold, basically just giving it a lot of gas back and fourth trying to get out. The car stutters, sputters then dies. Then doesn't want to start afterwards, took almost 5mins last night trying to get it to start, and it won't just start right up. It sputters and then dies, I have to keep giving it gas to get it to start and stay running then it runs great. Also a HUGE cloud of black smoke came out once it actually started. I dunno if it was because I pushed the car when dead cold or what.
