Intermittant Code 45
Code 45 is "Oxygen Sensor Rich"
The thing is, it only happens intermittantly. On my way to Michigan, it went on and off a couple times within about a 20 minute period and there was no performance problems associated with it. On the way back there were no codes thrown. Then this morning, it did it again, it was about an hour ride and it threw this code on and off for about 5 or 10 minutes.
So, any suggestions? My car does generally run rich (according to the smog station) but has never thrown a code about it before now. Also like I said I can feel no performance problems when the code is "on". So engine trouble or O2 sensor crapping out? (the sensor is only about 2 years old)

Check the oxygen sensor's wire; make sure that it hasn't melted against the y-pipe. That'll cause it to ground out and throw the rich code. Also check the connector to the oxy sensor pigtail; mine melted and cooked on the y-pipe which threw a 45.

It shouldn't throw a rich code when you melt the wire to the exhaust.
You'll get a lean code because it's grounded and nothing is getting back to the ECM. When the voltage is near 0, it'll try and force it richer until it reaches it's maximum adjustment, then it should throw a lean code.

Im getting a code 45 as well. My friend told me dat my car is giving some sort of low voltage. Maybe my oxygen sensor got disconnected because if u buy it from autozone or kragen, its hard to mount the harness. I should recheck my O2 as well.
