Slight backfire and really F-ing loud
Hey guys, just a week or so a go, I noticed one morning on the way to work that my Camaro was noticably louder and that there was also a slight backfire when pressure on the gas pedal was released. Are these two problems linked with eachother (as in, will fixing the exhaust fix the backfire) or is it possible there is also a timing issue that cropped up at a similar time?

You definitely have a hole in your exhaust and fixing the hole will at least lessen the backfire if not eliminate it.

I found out it was a combination of my leaking exhaust..and I was only running on 5 cylinders

Naw man, its the exhaust. One or more cylinders isn't getting proper compression and that causes a backfire.
