that is bashing. you don't come on the V6 board to make comments like that because that goes right along with trolling.
A troll IMHO, visits a site/forum and posts on the most active sub-forum and contradicts the entire purpose of the forum.

Pour example'

"THIRS GENS SUCK! HONDAS PWNZ UO ALL!!!!heavy CAMEROZ AREAND SLOW AND HEAVY. VTEC PWNS!VTEC PWNZ!"

That would be a troll

but as you did say trolling can be called comming to a forum and contradicting people.
you are comming here saying a v6 beating a v8 smells like

that could be taken as trolling

the v6 members are just touchy when it comes to that cause through the years they have always been picked on just like the domestic owners pick on the imports....

the v6 group is the little black sheep of the bunch that gets left pissed on so anymore they dont' take that crap.

hope you cna understand

everyone needs to settle down when it comes to fake hypothetical racing.

lets see IF a v6 can beat a v8.

the set up...

1 stock ,most popular form of v6

vs

1 stock,most popular form of v8

show time slips for each and we will have the winner for a stock

now to settle all final debate beyond that,

1 completly modded v6, only requirement,it must be street legal

vs

1 completly modded v8,as long as its street legal.

now we take the timeslips for each and compare them in all ways to the other two timeslips .

the modded v6 WILL beat the stock v8,and so forth.

Allright, time to get back in this thread I started oh so long ago. You guys are gettin way off topic anyway.

Since I started this thread I've gained much more knowledge and experience as I had only started driving my Firebird beginning of last summer.

Point is, anything can happen. Everything is a factor.

For example, the other day I saw my friend with a modded '89 v6 Supra and his boss with a 3rd gen 305 Camaro (looked like it was involved in some sort of accident by the looks of the new still-in-primer front fender n hood). We were racing up this road and I passed the chick with the Camaro and my friend was slowly pulling away from me.

I was kinda surprised at the outcome but couldn't stop grinning about passing that Camaro.

pretty sure it was just 3.0, and the non-turbo was a pile of crap.

the twin turbo setups easily run 13 seconds.

and both inline 's in 89 are 3.0.
And the Non turbo still had 200Hp / 230ish Trq. Enough to take a 3.4.

Also, most Supra (and RX) guys pitch the twin set up for a large T72 or up to a T88. Though I do not know if the RX guys go THAT large...

In near stock trim the Turbo's and TT's could push 13's. Currently I think the fastest street Supra with a 1JZ is pushing mid-high 11's with a MKIII TT engine...

Sad really, that a motor .5L smaller has so much more power...

the rx7 guys usually seem to go for t04 setups. there are those though that are looking for BIG power gains and have run t88 as you have said though.

it all depends on what the person is looking for

btw there is a FC rx7 with a 1jz swap in around this area. don't know if it is still running. the guy is part of the local rx7 club but I haven't been there in a few years so I don't know whats going on anymore

Yeah most the RX's I have seen have gone with T4 hybrids and the like. Though I have seen a couple running sequential from a large T3 to a T72. And no, I would not want to race them either.

My bad. He just said six cylinder, I never actually looked under the hood. I know he's not running a turbo tho.

welcome to the internet man

I'm not trying to bust your ***** as the saying goes

and I don't have a problem with you. just more of playing devils advocate by pointing what you said could have been taken as trolling.

again remembe the history I told you about with this part of the boards also

the v6 guys are shuned by the v8 guys and have had many of htem comming in here to start trouble. also they are picked on by the import crowd.

they are a leary bunch and untill they know you chances are they are going to be over defensive.

just take it easy kick back and have some fun. they will get to know you and talk to you kindly soon enough.

btw if you feed them **** they tend to like you more

I still don't know why everyone defends the v6... it's positive aspects are few and far-between...

the only thing that comes to mind is that it's cheaper.

you have no idea.

nobody likes the duke. just me and three other people.

it pisses me off so much to hear ''just swap in a v8''.
i dont want a v8,WHY THE **** WOULD I DO THAT!!!!!

and sure its slow as dirt, but the v8s of the same year are pathetic, barely 150hp,hell the duke has 90, all cars from the early 80s were slow. and most v6s are stock 80s crap, and most v8s are relitivly new crate motors,or modded stock motors.

if a v6 is all you want/need then to hell with anyone else.

besides, nobody goes very fast if all they can do is spin the tires. wasted hp is useless hp.

oh, well the same year v8 as my car has 240hp

The 83 only had the 5.0 non-HO, which was pretty weak.
