Another intake question.....
Well, I looked at some intakes and I am very impressed and it just makes me want to do it even more! lol
However, being the cheapskate that I am
I am currently going to leave the air intake box up to the MAF sensor and build it from there to the throttle body because I recently just spent some good $$$ on a replacement stock K&N air filter
and i'll change it all at a later time I suppose when I get some $$$.
So my question involves the metal pipe that comes out of the valve cover on the passenger side and then goes into the air intake snorkel. What did you folks do with it? How did you hook it up....assuming you made an intake which changed the snorkel on the throttle body of course
Thanks!

You could always fab up a new box for your K&N; turn it into a conical filter.
If you got some flat steel plate from Home Depot ($6/sheet), you could cut two circles; one for the top and one for the bottom. Tie them together with some long threaded rod and some nuts; that would seal both ends off.
Of course that's not good for airflow (ha, ha) so you'd have to open up one end, I'm sure you could bend some kind of adapter to take a hose. Such as, taking a coffee can, cutting "halfway" up it 6 ways, and bending each of the 6 pieces out- sort of like a flower- and attaching it between the air filter and one of the plates. Add some black RTV... or better yet, a flat piece of rubber (no idea where you'd find that) as a seal, and you've got a conical on the cheap. Such as this picture...

it's a function of the pcv circuit. it suks the fumes out of the internal engine & lets them get mixed w/teh incoming air. Think of a really vacuum pump, w/the intake taking in the air from teh engine
