it can take 7000rpm, but i wouldn't take it much past 5500, no power to gain and the higher you rev the more chance to break ****

Lets put it in an example that you can desifde for yourself.
The car is capable of 7000 rpms when NEW- but for how long will it last if if you continually rev it that high? maybe 50K
Now take another NEW motor and only rev it to 5500max and it will last you a lifetime of more like 120K.
Now only occationally rev it to 5500, and you will get more than 200,000 miles on it if you service it regularly with good oil, etc.
