.... Oil pressure...

I did a search but i couldn't quite find what i was looking for in an answer. heres the low down...

im reading almost Nil oil pressure on my stock gauge (yea i know, it aint accurate) when im accelerating, Then when i get to cruizin speed it's in the red zone I hear a tapping sound (possably coming from the cat from bottoming out earlier this year on a speed bump)at idle and as im accelerating, only time its audiable IN the car is with the radio shut off and near a curb or a another car/truck is beside be. Could it just be the oil presser sender/sensor? or is it the Oil pump itself? anybody got anyother ideas on what it could be?

get a gauge and hook it up to see what your oil pressure really is, thats the only way to know for sure. but if youre getting a noise, it could mean something bad. start by getting a gauge from sears or autozone or somewhere, let us know, then well see where to go next.

do you hear any noise from under the hood at idle? rev up the engine, see if you hear any noises at all, you should if theres any engine knocking. maybe youre gonna get lucky on this and itll just be the sending unit.
