Oil pain removal

Alright guys, im taking off my oil pain, this is what i have taken off so far, The moter monts are off, the oil pain bolts are out, the torque converter shroud(houseing???) is off, and the wiper motor is taken out, Now is there anything else that needs to be taken off the motor to raise the motor high enough to get the pan out?

if you havent done it yet, either unbolt the tranny from the engine or take off the tranny xmember and the driveshaft & torque arm. i would reccomend the latter, because the bellhousing bolts are considerably more difficult(on a 700r4 at least) than the other stuff.

you might want to take off the distributor cap in case it hits anything and breaks. its easy enough and could save you $7.

you're probably gonna have issues with the exhaust pipes. i dont think the y-pipe has that much flex in it, but i may be overestimating the height required to get the oil pan out.

Yournotoverestimating the hight. I had to do this and I had to bring the engine completly up in order to clear the K member.

I drop the starte so I could get to the the exhuast bolts easier. You will want to disconnect your exhuast so you don't it. Trq, arm and drive shaft??? I lef them hook up with no problems.

Hardest part was getting to all of the bolts on the oil pan, ad getting the dam wire harness out of the way. It was heated and cooled down so manny times that it kept poping back in place till I tied it out o the way.

Even with the engine all of the way up you will have wiggle it in and out.

Have fun. This repair had to be the one that pissed me off the most!

Going through this right now. Had to drop the exahust, took off the distributor car, the motor mounts and took out the starter. Still had to pry the pass side of the engine up a little with a pry bar to get the proper clearance for the pan to come out but wasn't that bad. While its down just take a look at your oil pump. I just did so just to be nosy and saw that the gears were going bad so it was a good thing. Better to do it now since you have it off than to get it back together and have to go though it again.

the repair has already been completed for me, found out i have a really stiff suspention, just put some sand bags on the struts (with padding first) to "load" the struts/shocks and the oil pan came right out, onlything bad was the oil pump thanks for the input though
