i have a 92 firebird with a 3.1 engine auto tranny
i was wondering how to pull codes off the computer.
and what kind of tranny i got.
i looked around on here i seen headers for 2.8 not 3.1 does anyone make them, and pulleys also.

pullys, aspracing.com, do not get the alt pully, just the crank.
codes, can be pulled with a paperclip and a haynes manual from local parts store.
tranny, auto=700r4, manual=wct5
the headers will fit a 3.1 if your not in a smog state.

Yes you will need a smaller belt, when you get your crank pulley it will give you a part number for the belt for your specific car year.

you short out termainal a-b, and count your check engine light flashes. The repair manual tells how.
you have a 700r4, I missed that you said auto.
correct pully, and whatever belt they list, get one half an inch shorter, mine slipped.
engine runs in default mode when its not warmed up, as well as its generally sucking colder air. So it will feel more powerful then.
May have something wrong, but doubt full. Check all your engine sensors.. ECT, O2, TPS,

yea, close enough. Prob something you could hit your knees on?
I belive a-b is the upper right two.
jump it with paper clip.
turn car to "radio on", or just the cick past.
then count the blinks.
Will start with blink, short pause, blink blink, long pause=code 12
will repeat that 3 times
then on to next code
it all should be in that repair manual.

the 90-92's have a higher amp alt I beleive, so those years are not as problematic using it.
Hell, I just went with a high output alt on my 92 and the car just flat out ran better... all the power I could ever need, nice bright lights and all. 140 amp solves everything.
