Melling cam shaft

Browsing through Summit Racing tonight, I came across this camshaft from Melling (Summit part number MEL-MTC-5). Rather.... inexpensive.
Anyone here have any experience with one? It's cheap enough, could be a fun project. Never heard of Melling engine parts, let alone have any experience with their products.

I'm running one myself. Good for a basically stock motor with headers.

.422/.444" lift (1.5 rocker arm ratio)

Harry Melling is one of the founding fathers of the NASCAR world. As in since the 1950's.
I'd say probably majority of oil pumps are "made" by him (and repackaged under others names).
In end, your cam idea has it's usual pros and cons.
In end, the majority of your vehicle is ripped apart to install cam, and that's not only a generalization, but sad truth/fact.
It is LOTS of work to get to and replace cam.
For the same effort/cost ya can also find a more powerful engine (a 3.4 scored has been done for as little at $210, complete!) and swap it in and have the gains and more, more power. Including the "cam specs" ya spied in the publication. 3.4s come standard with this aggressive cam pattern.
Both objectives are what ya seek.
Both are commitments. "Serious" commitments.
Your time and how ya earned your funds for playing sure don't come cheap.
And if your vehicle does run, it may be wiser to seek power gains thru other methods.
Have you upgraded and rebuilt your electrical/ignition system/timing chain lately?
You'd be surprised how much gain, much better runs your car (as in better milage) is realized. The seat of pants gain in the end is a plus, too!
Consider lots of options before ya pick up a wrench.
A cam change is a big undertaking.
