ok i went to Oreillys to price a MAF for my car since in an earlier topic i had determined that i had the FWD one instead of the RWD one. ok to my question. i have heard people in here quote that they spent about $100 bux on one but the only ones oreilly had were $42 bux does this sound right or are they trying to sell me the wrong one? part no they had were EC1918 and EC1903. well thats what they told me sound wrong? and my car started throwing code 34 last night any time the car is running. the only info i can find about this code relates to the MAP style sensors and not my MAF so what does it mean for me?

yeah, service manual goes from 34 to 41.

code 35 is Idle Air Control on the 2.5 tbi, and MAP sensor (voltage low) on port injection.

well from what i have found about code 34 is that i am getting less air than i am supposed to but how is that possible if it is installed the exact same way it was before i took it off? i understand that something is diferent cause the car dont have no geetup an go like it used to before i did this. is that just cause the computer is reading the sensor wrong or the sensor its self is bad? or mabe when i did so it actually started to work right and is now seeing that there is a lack of air flow due to the smaller MAF sensor restricting air flow?

There is a leak somewhere downstream from the MAF. Try tightening the entire intake boot again, then see if you get the same code.
