Flexplate swap?

Hello all. I have an 86 camaro that I have swapped a 1993 3.4 into. I have read that I should be using an auto flexplate from a 3.1/3.4. I do not believe that I had the flexplate from the 3.4 when I did my swap, so I am using the 2.8 one. Is this okay? The car has always felt rough and not smooth like my 1994 cutlass. What problems should I expect using the 2.8 flexplate?

Thanks
Rick

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
does the 3.4 start using it? if so then... untill you can get a replacement.
Though might want to check on internal/external balancing as if the wheel is not balanced when it should be then you could do some damage from out of balance.

you should be using the flexplate off a 3.4. if youve got it all installed, pull it back out and get one for a 3.4. the balance is different and you can cause damage to the engine if you dont.
