need some heating help!! PLEASE!
Okay all here is the situation...
car runs great! but no heat.. It will throw a little out at me after it is in the Vent position and on for about an hour.... But when i stop it doesnt push as much out... I know i know.. thermostat.. changed it.. no help.. Oh yeah, i cant hear the fan blowing out any air.. but i can hear the difference when i switch from like vent to floor.. as if it the flaps are moving but no air is coming out... makes no sense... oh and dont think heater core is bad cause there is no radiator fluid in the floorpan. could it be my blower motor has gone bad?? how hard is it to change?? thanks all...

if blower motor isnt spinning, either bad motor, switch, or relay.
It shouldnt allow much heat thru, as there is a vac controlled valve between the motor and heater core to not allow hot coolant to the core when heater mode is not selected.
Flapper door which you say is working, is also vac controlled.
You should NOT have any coolant on your pass floor board, if you do, the core is bad.

on an 85 the mode door should be cable controlled. youll know if its working or not, itll either bind up or move w/ no resistance(snapped)
if theres no heat, have you done anything w/ the coolant system lately? if so, it may need to be properly bled out of all air pockets.
you said you cant hear the blower fan. is that at all or just on certain speeds, or certain conditions? need specifics on that. it could be a resistor block or something.
look down the firewall, the heater core could be bad at the hoses, so it wouldnt leak on the floor, but leak down the firewall.

Heater control valve stuck shut. It's a black vacuum motor under the hood in the front on the passenger side.
**edit: just noticed that I basically copied Dale's idea.
