Started up, then started revving high
Since my tach is messed up I don't know where it really idles at. I just know that when it idles it's at around 2000 on the tach, but it's not accurate.
Tonight I started it up and it was at 2000 like usual but then started going up slowly and you could hear the motor going up in RPMs as well.. I tapped the on the gas to see if it would stop, but that didn't do anything and the tach and motor kept going higher... I shut it off and started it back up. This time it was revving at 4000 soon as it started up, and it started going up again to about 5500 and I cut it off again.. It sounded like I was sitting there with my foot on the gas a 1/4 way down and slowly pushing on it more and more
Again, the numbers are not accurate I'm just trying to explain it as I saw it

I'm pretty sure it isn't a vaccum leak, but it could be the IAC... I have been wanting to clean it for a while now, just never got around to it.... Is there a way I can check to see if it's my intake gaskets without tearing anything apart?

I think I fixed the problem.
If you look at this picture https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/att...postid=2663340
Under the IAC, is that the TPS that is in the bottom of the red circle? It has something shaped like a circle plugged into the side of it... I had the car running and I unplugged it and it didn't idle any different, I stuck it back in and when I did I pushed it in hard and it started idleing normal again. So what I'm thinking was somehow it wasn't pushed in all the way causing it to idle high, does that make sense?
