Error code help

Error code help
OK, I drove the 91 RS (V6) that we bought for my daughter to work this morning. I noticed that the SES light came on while I was waiting for a light and then went out after the light changed and I drove about half a block. Then the SES light came back on when I hit the expressway and did not go out until I stopped the car and turned it off and started it back up.
I checked the error codes following the instruction on this board and got a 32 and a 35. Can anyone help me out with these. Please keep in mind that I just got this car and I am not the best mechanic. I can do most things with good instructions though.

Code 32. Fault in barometric pressure sensor circuit OR Fault in exhaust gas recirculation valve diagnostic switch OR Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve
Code 35. Idle speed can not be set to desired RPM
You might have a problem with the EGR System, or MAP system. I think that the code 32 in your case refers to MAP since you don't have an EGR Diagnostic Switch or Vacuum regulator valve with a digital EGR System. Check the vacuum line to the MAP sensor mounted on the firewall for breaks. The line is made of out plastic that always goes bad on these cars when they get older.
The Code 35 is probably a by-product of the code 32 if it is indeed a vacuum line problem. With a vacuum leak, the idle seed will be high all the time and the IAC motor can't compensate for it.
Check out the code 32 first, fix it, clear the codes and see if the 35 comes back.

Thanks for the info. I will check after work today. Can you give me a location on the firewall to start looking? Can this be replaced with a rubber vacume tube or do I need to replace the entire sensor?

Jest take a lok at the line coming from it. Make sure there are no breaks in it. It's a small black box maybe 1 1/2" x 3 with an electrical connector and vacuum line. It should be mounted on the driver's side.
You can replace the line with rubber, that's what everyone else does. If there are no breaks in the line then it might actually be a sensor problem and it might have to be replaced, but start with the vacuum line and go from there, it's cheaper that way.

other questions
I started to look last night after work and got sidetracked when I found this vacume line coming out of the back of the manifold and going nowhere. It has a "T" fitting in the end of it which was not plugged nor did they go anywhere. Could this be part of the problem or an entire new one? Any idea where the vacume lines go? I tried to post pictures but I would have to make them so small that no one could see them but you can see them here.

I believe that one goes off to the HVAC(Heater) system to control the vent doors. It could definitly be the/part of the problem. Try to find the line that went there and put it back, but at the very least, put a vacuum cap on it and drive to see if the light returns.
The MAP sensor calculates engine load based on manifold vacuum, so if you have somwhere that vents to atmosphere freely like that, it cause a low vacuum/high pressure reading compared to what the computer expects for a certain Throttle position and RPM range. So you can see where that might give you a code.
Oh, and you see the little black box mounted to the firewall, above the intake in that second picture? That's the MAP sensor.

Oh very cool. I kind looked yesterday for lose hoses but didn't see any. I will look again and see if there are any and if I can't find them I will cap off the open lines and see what happens. Oh and thanks for pointing out the MAP sensor. I will look at it also if I don't get distracted again.

OK, I checked the line coming off of the MAP sensor and it looked good. I tried to figure where the other lines went and could not figure it out so I plugged the open line and the motor started to run much smoother. I cleared the error codes and let it run for a while and did not get the SES light. I drove it in this morning and it ran very well and I did not get the SES light. So Hopefully that is fixed (until I get a manual and put the lines where they belong). Now it is on to the speedometer not working and the rear hatch pull down assembly being broken. Small steps I guess.
