Springs will have to be a "crap shot" and just keep trying several.

I've seen someone on here with a 82-89 model remove the whole cluster, and install aftermarkets.

The cluster has a whole circit board on the back. You can remove just the tach, but dont think you can cut the back out because of the board.

use coil over shocks and adjust your ride height to your liking.

You can get bolt on shock coil overs that can be adjust as well but not as easy as fancy screw up n down type. You can also use some exhaust stud extenders. Just makes the shock over all lenght inch or so longer to aid in lifting the rear just a tad. [any auto store sells both]

I have both clamp on coil overs and shock stud extenders. Because the stock rear springs were saggy when I got my car and its what worked to make the car sit nice and level. over 7 years and still nice and level.

the car isnt sagging it has all new stock replacements in it,
but i installed the 16 inch iroc rims with 245/45/zr-16's up front and 255/50/zr-16's in the rear.i dont want to lower the car otherwise my slicks will not fit on the car.I just need a stiffer spring with stock ride hieght. If i really have to lower the car to get stiffer springs im quessing 3/4 is the most drop i can get away with

In the front, you could possibly go to v8 springs with1.75 drop. I think that gave mine close to stock height.

Rear... Air shocks?
