besides the fact that the fumes might kill you.. In most states the ex must exit beyond the body somewhere..

so 1st.. in most states you have to have the cat even it the cars past it smog testing years.

2nd in the states where you dont, you can just replace it with a bypass pipe but must still clear the body..

3rd its best to have it comming out the rear of the car so the chances of fumes entering the car are null..

4th if you want loud.. just use a bypass at the cat and a cherry bomb for a muffler in the rear. I think you will get what you want from that...

most laws say the exhaust must run atleast to the rear axel.

if you just ran a cat but also had a full exhaust pipe.
Might not sound like a v8 with rusted headders.

though I do forget, ages matters.

There was a time when I thought the flat spotted rusted n blown out headder bottoms on my 72 charger sounded cool. Jacked a mile into the air in back, with air shock n tall skinny tires. Used a brick for park because it was either 1st gear or park. Couldn't have both.

as long as the ex exits atleast right infront of the rear axle u should get away without ex fumes as long as u dont have holes in the floor.i have full lenght headers with stright pipes with flowmasters and turn downs on my 87, and i dont get fumes in my car, the ex system ends about 6 inches infront of the rear, i have the turndowns on a slight angle to the outsides of the car but they mostly point striaght down

well thats also depands on where one lives.. Im my home state.. all ex pipe must extend beyoud the body. Here in Ca the ex must extend beyond any space occupied by people.. So no matter what.. 1st check with ur local laws.. One dont want to spend money on paying tickets
