Its Alive,,NOT SO FAST!

I finally got it back on the road, adding another notch to the number of members who did the 2.8-3.4 swap, i got the motor and trans and hood back in the car yesterday, and then, did everything else today, after school, from which i got home from at 2:50pm, it was driving by 945 tonight, under 7 hrs, did everything, runs like a charm and the power difference is very noticable! will post more later, im tired as hell and havent eaten all day

well, i took it for a drive and at 25-30mph, bang, i put it in nuetral, and it starts idleing rough, then starts diesleing then stall, i can start it, and it will sound ok for about 3 seconds, then will pop really loud, diesle again, and stall., i saw that the vaccum line block in the back of the throttle body going to my fuel pressure regulator came out, put it back and nothing, it has had the code 34 going for awhile berfore i did the swap, and still did it after, with my 2nd new MAF, i know its ignition or fuel related, would the line coming off the fpr spike the fuel pressure and rupture something?

just start troubleshooting... do you have good hot spark?

Do you have full fuel pressure? Fuel injectors working?

You'll work the bugs out

well, i got it running today at work, fuel press. was at 43-45, i threw a fuel filter on for good measure(found it under my seat awhile back when i got the car), but those plastic vac. lines, WOW, i beat those things up, now i only have vac lines for the IAC, PCV, and FPR, from half inch heater hose and wiper fluid hose, timing was at 4* when i checked it, i put it to 12*, but i think bumped it over a little more advanced on accident when i was tightening the dizzy, it was stumbleing under load and popping really bad coasting down hill in gear on the way home, i bumped the dist. back a tad when i got home a few mins ago, will drive it again later tonight...maybe

i drove it to my girlfriends house about 8 miles away, it died TWICE, i unplugged the elctronic advance and went on my way, NO POWER, but it was all i could do, it was still popping and wanting to stall, im going to NAPA in the morning for a new control module and pickup and hope for the best.

hey, um, no, its still not running, i rebuild the dizzy on sunday and no difference, so that night, i check some grounds, cleaned the connections, started it, it ran for 2 seconds, stalled, and wouldnt start back up agian, it'll crank, but wont even hint at starting. then, i noticed, key is on, engine is off, no check engine light, the bulb is good, but i tried to put it in diagnostic mode with the paper clip, and it wouldnt flash, and the fan wouldnt come on as it usally does in diagnostic mode, i havent had time to fool with it due to school and work, but after my uti interviwe tommorow, im gonna see if the ecm is getting power, check fuel pressure and spark and maybe kick the car in the nuts if nothing else works

hmm....sounds like the ECM died I think. I had similar troubles before and it was the ECM.

But at least you know it wasn't the actual swap cause it was running good! Keep us posted
