fuel injector question
k, howdi yall. I gotta quick question, do fuel injectors off a 3.1 liter fwd motor work on my 2.8? they seem a little shorter and stalkier? i got some for free and mine are all torn apart. Will they work?

If they fit, I don't see why not. People are always using all sorts of crazy injectors around here. If its a GM 3.1L most definitely yes. 3.1L I believe uses the 17 lb and the 2.8L (at least MY 2.8L) uses the 15 lb. It'll run rich but the ECM should compensate by shortening the pulse width.

well like i said there off a fwd car and they are a little stockier than mine, shorter and fatter..but fit. and why would i have to re tune my car and how

The 3.1L injectors are likely 17 pound injectors vs. the stock 2.8L 15 pound injectors.
The ECM is expecting a 15 pound injector but will be able to compensate by itself in order to run the motor correctly.
Typically when you tune the 2.8L, it needs more fuel (cam, heads, intake, headers, exhaust, PROM modify, stroke, port/polish, etc) - the next logical step is stronger injectors. Hence the recommended tune
