The 3.4 cam is ever so slightly better, that it replaced the 2.8/3.1 cam. If you go to GM and ask for a 2.8 cam, your actually going to get a 3.4.
Dont remember the specs off the top of my head

Does it come with new lifters too? If not, the cost of the lifters would put it in the range of "not worth it".

if youve already got it apart, id say just upgrade to a better cam. call summit and get the MTC-5 kit for $200. much better and you get new lifters. whenever you replace a cam, you MUST replace the lifters as well or just say your goodbyes now, cause it wont be long.
