Timing gear setup help
I just installed a new timing chain and gears , not sure but I think I may have put them in wrong , the motor did start one time and ran real sluggish , have not been able to start since , if they were installed wrong would it be possible for it to start at all .

Since nobody is going to help this guy out, thought I take a stab at it.Anytime I do a timing set...I bring the balancer up to the top dead center mark then start removing stuff. The cam gear and crank should both have a dot next to a tooth.I ant sure on the v6's but assume it.Cam gear with dot at 6 o'clock position and crank at 12 o'clock position? The old ones should be close to this when you removed them.If you have them off a tooth ,I cannot say it will run or not.I know the carb models would and like CR&P too. Also did you reset the base timing? jst my

Thanks for taking the time to reply . think I have the timing part down now , but in working that out found my oil pan over filled from fuel pouring in it , a friend of mine said it my have been from timing not being right and contiued attemps to crank it , either that or my injectors are leaking and dumping fuel into the oil pan .

I think your on the right track..I was thinking the same thing.
But if you removed the head and intake and didnt have a problem with it before I would look into the intake.head gaskets again. If you did have problems before you did this then ..YES look into the injectors..

I did'nt have the problem before , but I did pull the fuel rail and injectors from the manifold (did'nt think to leave them attached to the manifold) did notice one of the injectors had a crack on the tip cover but read else where on here that the tip covers only keep dirt out and that they could be run with out them , also replaced the O rings on them while I had them out

Well..the only thing I can say is fuel is getting into the crankcase..you have to rule out the injectors and try and ohm each injector.I am not sure what the recommended reading is ..maybe someone here will drop you a line?.my 90 v6 is around 12 ohms of resistance..anything less would be a problem. You could also try and remove the rail with injectors connected and turn on the ignition key (pressurize the rail)and see if you have a leaky one?One more thing,I should mention I hope you didnt cross a injector connector?

Labled each connection as I took them off with the cylinder it went to , I will try pulling the fuel rail and checking for leaks
Thank you for your thoughts on this , has been a lot of help
