injectors

I pulled my injectors, and shipped them off to cruzin. I looked down the holes the injectors came out of and there is alot of carbon build up and some tiny debris, can I clean this out? If so how?

Where is the cold start injector? It looks like its on the back of the block. Is it hard to get out?

How hard could it really be to pull the cold start injector? If you have everything torn down to the fuel rail it should be easy. If you are doing all the injectors why not include the cold start one too?

Be careful with the cold start injector, for three reasons:

1. If you put any slight bend in the metal pipe from the CSI to the fuel rail, you'll have a hard time threading the pipe nut back onto the rail. Be careful not to strip it out.

2. The o-ring for the CSI is some kind of strange size- I visited quite a few parts stores, all with O-ring kits, and they couldn't find an o-ring for me.

3. Nobody makes the CSI anymore!! Your only two options are either the junkyard, or blocking it off altogether. (The V8 TPI guys that convert to speed density have made block-off plates for that hole.)

But yes, Rich J will clean a CSI, too.

Oh for the carbon, just spray some throttle body cleaner into the holes... be careful with the debris, try to vacuum it out so it doesn't fall into your motor and score the pistons (or piston rings). Always try to use compressed air to blow dirt away from that kind of stuff BEFORE you take it apart!

3.1 just puts a freeze plug in its place.

No replacements? so what happens if the thing goes bad??? Not even A/C Delco makes it?? I know we can still start our cars, but what problems will come around if it goes bad???
