My cluster update

Ok...I finally had the time to check out things. I took the cluster out and with a mutlimeter, I tested for continuity from the 14 pin contacts to whatever they were connected to. Guess what, they all tested fine for continuity. Sooooo......must be the harness. I broke out the shop manual and looked at the pin-out. There are 3 ground leads in the harness. I took a small allen wrench and slightly bent the 3 ground leads out of the harness a little to make them have better contact with the leads in the cluster. I tried this after checking all 3 ground leads for continuity to ground on the body somewhere. I re-inserted the cluster and VOILA!! I had a working cluster again. For those intrested, the 3 ground wires in the harness (the harness on the left for Volt,Temp,Tach) are leads 3,5,8. Pin number 1 for reference is the very 1st one on the bottom on the left. The number one pin is a silver color and the rest are copper. I hope this helps someone. Thanks for the replies guys.

Ken
