2.8l v6 87 camaro is stalling at lights...HELP!!
ok...this is my first post...so here it goes....well..i have a 87 camaro with a 2.8 v6 standard with fuel intake....for almost 4 months my car has been stalling when you stop at a light, and stop signs...it is driving me insane
...i dont know that much about cars, but i have changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, distributor, rotor, TPS senor, and the PCV valve. the idle is low. well my dad and i believe it is...its running at about a 700 or 800....when i stop at a light the rpms drop to about 400 and 500...before we changed the pcv valve it would stall all the time...but now it still stalls but not everytime...my dad has checked the vacuum lines, and he doesnt believe there are any leaks...does anyone know what it could be??!!!! i would really greatly apprieciate anyones help....thanks

Years ago I had a 91 Cavalier with the TH-200C three speed auto that would stall whenever I came to a stop after driving for at least 20 minutes. The problem turned out to be a faulty torque converter clutch solenoid. Once it was replaced, everything worked fine. If you have the 700r4 you might want to check that out. Try uplugging the wires that go to the solenoid to keep the lock up clutch from engaging and drive around for a while, if you don't stall then you need a new solenoid.

Morran, she has a standard.
Ballgrl, many of us have this problem, there several threads just below this one that are the same thing, read all of those and you'll see any suggestions to your problem. I am also fighting this stalling issue.

may help..it did on mine..people often overlook the brake booster its the large circular metal thing behind the master cylinder. If it doesnt have a good seal/ruptured it will be just like a vacuum leak when you hit the brakes. My car didnt die till it got to closed loop or when it got warm.A pick up coil, dirty IAC valve, bad injector..number of items to check.
process of elimation ..I call it
