Installed brake booster...
and it was a beotch! Removing the master cylinder and pushing it to the side is no big deal. From sitting in the driver's seat, the 2 nuts on the left that hold the booster on was no major pain with an 18" extension and a 15mm socket. The nut on the lower right near the steering column, kinda hard. The upper right one.....BEOTCH!!! I finally got it off and looked at it and said, " YOU ARE NOT GOING BACK ON!!!", and then threw it away. 3 outta 4 ain't bad and it holds the booster on just fine. Cranked the car up and it idled a steady 1100 rmps and no bouncing. The RPMs jump a little up and down when using the brakes, but that it to be expected. I bet it don't stall out on me no more. Got this booster from an 89 GTA and the check valve was a little smaller that goes to the intake...but I tighten the hoseclamp pretty good and siliconed around the area where the valve and booster vacuum line meet to ensure no leak. I need a drink.

Ummmm...took about an hour with the cussing. Longer if I did'nt cus, but I needed to vent frustration. LOL. It was just awkward to get to the top right nut. I coulda drop the steering column, but thats just one more thing to worry about. I put the drivers seat all the way back and fully laid back. Then I laid in it upside down to get at the right angle to get to that nut. Kinda reminded me of putting in the heater core when I was in the seat like that.
To answer the second part...I just got standard front disc/rear drum. Booster works fine though.
