Codes
I have a 1990 RS. It is reving way too high. I start it up for the 1st time of the day and it's idling at 3500. It continues to rev higher and higher. When i shift into drive and let off the brake to go, and it jerks and then goes. I pulled the codes on it and this is what i got.
13. Oxygen sensor signal stays lean during warm engine cruise.
22. Low voltage at throttle position sensor.
32. Fault in barometric pressure sensor circuit OR Fault in exhaust gas recirculation valve diagnostics switch OR Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve.
33. High voltage (low vacuum) at mass air flow sensor.
35. Idle speed can not be set at desired RPM.
What should i do?

well! it seems as if you have a few thigs wrong ,.,.but im thinking that just one or two of your issues are causing oters to fail,. meaning probly not all thoses componets are bad., so i would star by checking the connections to your sensor;s and egr,.i have a bad egr and mine will only spit that code out ,..,im sure you want to economicaly fixe your code problems with out buying one thing after anoth just to locate you main problem/'s ,.,.so i think something to do could be to check you sensor,. and vacum one by one first,.

when did it start? just out of nowhere or after something was worked on under the hood? do you hear any hissing or sucking sounds under the hood? check for vacuum leaks w/ some carb cleaner. spray it around any spot that theres a gasket on the intake or a vacuum line. its possible that its your IAC motor, but more than likely a vacuum leak. once you fix that, reset the ECM and drive it, see what codes come back and go from there.

When i bought the car, it didnt have a muffler or tailpipes...it was a true cat back exhaust so to speak. The oxygen sensor was in tact with the cat. I only drove the car 2 times that way, and then went to a shop to get an exhaust put on. After the exhaust was put on is when the problem started.

that wouldnt have anything to do with that problem. theres nothing after the o2 sensor anyway, from the cat back is basically for noise control. start by checking for vacuum leaks, every gasket, every vacuum line. some of those lines are hard to see but get in all the lil nooks and crannys w/ a light and at every angle to make sure none are melted or broken or cracked.

Well, I fixed the reving problem by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds and connecting it back. But, my tach is still reading double. The idle is good now, but the tach lies and says is idling higher....for example, really idling at 750, but tach reads 1500. I got a new distributor put in not too long ago. What could be the problem now?
