mac performance strut tower brace

hey all, i got my mac stb today from hawks, and i take it out of the box...and to my suprise, it uses the existing bolts already there for the strut tops, so i was like sweet and i went out and threw it on the car in 5 minutes, but then i was soon to realize that the stb was resting on my alternator, very snug infact so i threw a couple of washers between the brace and the strut top on the left (passenger) side, and bolted it back down, now it clears, by maybe the height of a dime laying FLAT....now is this too close? if i stomp on it is the motor going to tilt back and smack the brace? i can post some pics if youd like, overall im really happy with the brace, just to be safe i may go get some stainless washers and make it a notch higher in the near future. so if you order it....have a few washers to throw under the brace...

just took a cruise around town, it feels a lot better, but i do get a vibration noise from the 2 making contact, looks like ill be off to the hardware store for stainless washers soon, anyway, if you know about the washers, the brace is only 90 dollars, still a sweet deal IMO. plus theres NO drilling holes in your car that will promote more rust.

its not the most eye appealing piece, but its budget and purpose worthy, it also comes in chrome but that would look bad on my orange and gold car, ill post pics tonite.

IMO it cant be beat for 90 dollars, 10 more for chrome, but that wouldnt have blended well, its a purpose piece, its obvisouly not made to drop jaws etc, plus, if you have a few washers, its a 5 minute bolt in, no drilling cancerous holes in our cars etc....food for thought. BTW i adjusted it today, and i now have about 1/2" clearance from the alt.
